Model Mom Christy Turlington on the Mend

Supermodel mom Christy Turlington is recovering from a bout with Lyme disease according to a friend of hers.

"They caught it early; she's going to be fine," says the friend.

A rep for Turlington tells the NY Daily News: "While we don't answer any questions about Christy's private life, so there is no misunderstanding ... Christy is very healthy and fine."

Reese Witherspoon is In Bloom

Reese Witherspoon has a new fragrance. The scent, In Bloom, is being released by Avon just in time for holiday shopping.

The actress reveals that the inspiration for the fragrence is her new attitude towards life.

"When we came up with In Bloom, it just sounded like a great name," Witherspoon says. "I thought it should evoke a feeling that was reflective of what was going on in my life. I think that In Bloom captures the idea that I'm at a time in my life where I feel very confident with my work, with my personal life -- and that it's a time to really blossom."

Marley Shelton introduces her newborn daughter, West Flynn, 2 months, in this week's edition of Life & Style magazine.

The actress credits her quirky role in the film Sugar & Spice for helping her prepare for the arrival of little West. She sas, “I played a cheerleader who was pregnant with twins. I remember doing my research for it, so it’s funny now to be living out motherhood. Thank God I didn’t have twins!”

"West is just full of smiles,” the Eleventh Hour star says. “I could watch her smile for ages. She’s amazing. I love everything about West. She’s just scrumptious.”

And the inspiration behind the unique name? “My husband [Beau Flynn] actually dreamed seven years ago that we had a daughter, and he was calling her West,” she reveals. “I immediately said, ‘If we ever have a daughter, we’re definitely naming her that.’”

Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber's Alleged Extortion Plot

Entertainment Tonight is reporting that supermodel Cindy Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber are victims of an alleged extortion attempt.

A rep for the couple has released the following statement:

A criminal complaint was filed today in federal court in Los Angeles by the U.S. Attorney's office and the FBI stating that Rande Gerber and Cindy Crawford have been the victims of an on-going extortion scheme. This crime has been committed by Edis Kayalar, an acquaintance of a former nanny employed by the family. Mr. Kayalar threatened to sell an image taken of the couple's then-seven-year-old daughter. There was no previous awareness by Mr. Gerber and Ms. Crawford of the existence of the photograph when they were contacted by Mr. Kayalar. The photo was taken by the former nanny as part of a purported game without the knowledge of the parents. The couple reported the extortion threat to the police and the FBI began a criminal investigation in the matter. Rande Gerber and Cindy Crawford intend to pursue any and all available legal action against anyone who aids the perpetrator in the distribution or sale of the photograph of their daughter."

The photo in question reportedly shows the couple's daughter, Kaia, bound, gagged, and tied to a chair. According to the complaint filed in US District Court, Mr. Kavalar apparently met the former nanny in a bar and stole the photo from her home.

The couple also have a 10-year-old son, Presley Walker.
