Nancy O'Dell Talks About Her New Baby
Nancy O’Dell makes a living out of interviewing people for Access Hollywood, so its no surprise that her 3-month-old daughter, Ashby, is starting to get chatty.
“She loves to hang out with people,” Nancy says “We take her to dinners and she just sits there, and as long as you put her in the conversation, you’ll hear her go, ‘Uh, uh.’ She’ll grunt a little bit and you’ll know she wants to turn around and then she’s fine as long as she’s part of it.” She's a very social baby."
So far Ashby is the “most content, happy, little baby,” who barely ever cries.
Since becoming a new mom to Ashby, Nancy is delighting in her life which includes: anew baby, a great job, supportive husband Keith Zubchevich, and two stepsons, Tyler, 12, Carson, 7.
“It feels like I’m where I’m supposed to be. It’s like before, I had the great career, my job was wonderful and then, all of a sudden, I found my husband and had a great home life and this on top of it?”

Cool Stuff : Biome 5: Eco-friendly Tees for Animal Lovers...
I have been blessed with a child who loves animals and nature. Many kids like animals, my son LOVES them. He watches animal documentaries and tells the biologists at the zoo all of the animal facts they attempt to teach him. The library at his school started special ordering books to feed his interest. He's planning to be an animal rescuer when he grows up. He truly loves animals and nature.
So when I discovered the tees by BioMe5, I was absolutely thrilled. The BioMe5 alphabet shirts are all inspired by the Earth's biomes (deserts, grasslands, aquatics, forests, etc.). The collection (A - Z) is full of vibrant colors, super-size letters, and awesome animal graphis showing the residents of the various biomes.
Designed by two architectural designers in Venice, California, the tees capture the world from the child's perspective. The animal names on the shirts are even upside down, so the child can read what they say as they wear them!
Each tees is constructed from certified organic cotton and shipped in biodegradable plastic bags.
Available in sizes from 2T - 6T. (I'm crossing my fingers that they start making the tees for older kids.)
They have just released a long-sleezed version of the tees just in time for fall.
Check them out at http://www.biome5.com/

John Travolta and Kelly Preston are old pros at balancing parenthood and Hollywood
John Travolta and Kelly Preston are old pros at balancing parenthood and Hollywood. The couple have two kids son Jett, 15, and daughter Ella, 7.
“It’s tough to be a parent anywhere,” John says. “I think there’s some advantages that Hollywood people have for encouraging privacy and home-schooling. We get to control our environment a little better even though it looks like being famous you’re less controlled. We actually in some ways get to control it better.”
Kelly's favorite part of being a mom?
“Just the closeness and the fun and the joy they give you on an every-moment basis,” Kelly says. “It’s just so wondrous. There’s so many clichés, but it’s really seeing things through their eyes, or the hilarious ways they’ll perceive something. Their take on it is so completely astute. Kids say the wildest things. Well, they really do, and they nail it all the time.”

Richard Gere...
He may star in them, but Richard Gere doesn't have much time to go to the moviessince having son, Homer, 7, with wife Carey Lowell.
“When you have kids, you don’t see movies much,”says Gere. “If you had the time and space in your life to see a movie, you’d probably rather spend it with your wife doing something else. I see all the kids’ movies. That’s required. I liked the Toy Story movies and The Incredibles.”
One thing he did take time for this summer was to take Homer to Cooperstown, N.Y., to visit the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum.
“My son is going into baseball, and down in the basement, there was one of those gloves — it was Lou Gehrig’s — and it reminded me of the glove I had as a kid. His was in 1920-something, and mine was a 1950-something. I wish I had the baseball glove I had as a child. It was one of those very inelegant, fat gloves where all the fingers were fat and it didn't have modern webbing.”

"We talk about it often," Rimes says in the October issue of Redbook magazine of having children with her husband, Dean Sheremet. "We also talk about the huge responsibility. We wake up some mornings and say, 'What would we do if we had a kid? How would we work this?'"
She had previously talked about adoption due to a fear of childbirth, but may be considering having a biological child after all.

Brad Pitt says Kids Are an Antidote
Brad Pitt has found a way to overcome the sadness he says has followed him since he was a child -- having children of his own.
"It's the greatest thing I've ever taken on," Pitt said of being a parent on ABC's Good Morning America. "It's the most difficult, the most rewarding and the most fun. I think this is the greatest thing I could possibly achieve, and hats off to all the parents out there."
He says he believes the sadness is a way of life in the prairies of Missouri where he grow up. "It's something that I feel in my grandparents, in the people I've met, in a Southern way of life," said Pitt. "It's something pervasive, an undercurrent that I think Christianity answers."
Being surrounded by kids has lifted the sadness for Pitt. He says: "They say the funniest things I've ever heard, They're the funniest people I've ever met."
Another things that he values is having some help raising the kids -- in the form of Angelina Jolie
"One of the things I'm most happy about for my kids," Pitt said, "is that they have a mother, I think, because she's amazing."

Dave Grohl Schools Daughter on Music and Gossip
Not every little girl gets to grow up surrounded by platinum plaques, songwriting awards, and photos of rock legends. Yet that is the world that surround Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl and his 14-month-old daughter Violet.
''Look! There's Daddy, there's Ozzy...'' says Grohl as he plays show-and-tell with the toddler. When she points to a picture of a long-haired, mustached, and menacing-looking guy with an inquiring look on her face, dad Grohl responds, ''That's Tony Iommi. 'Can you say Tone-ee Aye-oh-mee?'' Grohl is clearly proud that his daughter is interested in the lead guitarist of Black Sabbath.
Violet has been immersed in music since before she was born. He and wife Jordyn have been playing music for the tot since she was inutero. ''We started with Mozart,'' explains Grohl. ''Then I said, 'Let's try some rock, [like] the Beatles.' So we played 'Taxman' and she went berserk.''
This summer Grohl has been busy touring with the band and keeping up with Violet via video thanks to iChat on his laptop with occassional visits. When visiting dad, she loves being surrounded by the bands entourage of band members, crew members, and managers.
''Violet was immediately surrounded by so many people," Grohl says, ''that she's not afraid. I think it's important for kids to be social and to expose them to stuff as soon as possible.''
Grohl and Jordyn recently learned that Violet is in the 90th percentile in height, so he thinks "she'll probably grow up to be 5'7''Her mom's beautiful, her dad's a big rock star."
How does he keep busy on the tour bus? Grohl admits he has a thing for gossip and the whole band has a mild obsession with Britney Spears.
''Have you seen Britney without the extensions?'' Grohl asks drummer Taylor Hawkins. ''She looks so good with short hair.'
"If she could just get her s--- together,'' responds Hawkins. ''You know you're in bad shape if Kevin Fenderline [sic] is looking like the good guy...''
''I'm gonna go ahead and say that Paris Hilton is f---in' lame,'' Grohl announces. ''She's more offensive to me than anything... a total raging, disgusting, rich, lazy party slut. I pray that my daughter will not turn out like her.''

Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott Plan
Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott have plans on franchising their modern bed & breakfast, Chateau La Rue.
Dean said backstage at the Betsey Johnson show, "Our goal is to franchise. We'd love to have them all over the world, Chateau La Rue's everywhere!
"I would love one in Scotland. I love Scotland, my heart belongs to Scotland, I left my heart in Scotland, like the Tony Bennett song. "
It's not all fun and games, he admits, "Having a bed and breakfast is like having another child. It's nine to five, two, four, and seven. It takes a lot of love and a lot of care and discipline. Leann Rimes Trying to Find the Right time
LeAnn Rimes and hubby Dean Sheremet have been married for five years and are trying to find the right time to start a family.
She says, “We really do want to. We’re trying to figure out when to fit it into our lives. My husband loves children, and so do I. We’ll start with one, and see where we go. But soon — soon enough.”
Rimes is open to having her kids get into performing if that's what they want to do -- although she wants them to wait until they are at least 18 first.
“If they have the ability, the gift and the talent, I would definitely encourage, support and develop that, as they are going through their childhood. For me, being in this business at such a young age, I know the good, the bad and the ugly, so I feel like I would want my kid to be at least 18 years old before they jump into this, just so they have a good base, a good foundation and they have their education, and they’re able to make decisions on their own. Not that at 18, you’re able to make great decisions on your own. Even being in this business and growing up as fast as I did — 18 was still a hard time. Hopefully with the support of us — good parents and a good upbringing — if they have the talent, I’ll definitely encourage it, but wait until they get older.”

Hope of Eddie Vedder about his Daughter
After 17 years of being the frontman for Pearl Jam, Eddie Vedder is writing and recording solo tracks for two movie soundtracks this fall.
He recently talked with Entertainment Weekly about raising 3-year-old daughter, Olivia, in today's world and facing the upcoming adolescent years.
He says, "It's hard to get through a kid's life without f---ing them up. And no matter how good you are, at some point your kids are gonna have to create their own independence and think that Mom and Dad aren't cool, just to establish themselves. That's what adolescence is about. They're gonna go through that no matter what. And I think that'll be an interesting time. I'm thinking about it myself. [Chuckles] These are troubled times, too. Do you force your kids to pay attention to what's going on, or do you let them live their lives outside of it?"
One thing he does hope to pass onto Olivia, his activism and passion for the world.
"My hope is that my child is a strong activist. That would make me most proud."

Jennifer Garner Talks about love, life, babies
Jennifer Garner is on the cover of the October issue of Marie Claire and she talks about love, life, babies and her future as the next Oprah from moms! The issue is the annual beauty issue and includes a selection of "covers".
Some highlights below:
On 21-month-old daughter Violet: “She’s pretty awesome. We’re in that sweet spot before the terrible twos. She sleeps till 7! Yeah, we lucked out. Supposedly [when] you have one that’s this easy and great, you’re screwed the next time around.”
On the paparazzi: “[The paparazzi] just nips away at anything you’re doing, the small pleasures. I would give just about anything to make it go away, especially for my daughter. I feel like she has a right to her privacy, and it’s kind of encroached on.”
On her marriage to Ben Affleck: “I don’t know what makes it work. But it does. One thing that makes it work is that we’re both pretty nice. He’s not someone who’s ever going to blow up on anyone. What I mean is, if he’s ever angry with me, he doesn’t act out on it in a weird way or yell at me. And I am the same. So we handle conflict in a very loving and adult way.
On having more children: “We definitely wonder what it would be like to have another — hopefully, knock on wood, someday. [raps table] My job is great to have as a mom. I get to take breaks and then work in a really concentrated way. During that concentrated time, it sucks, but whatever.”
On her future as a talk show host: “I feel like women, and especially mothers, are disenfranchised from our families; we don’t have the same support group around us that we did a generation ago. All my girlfriends and my sisters were having these same issues, and I felt like, ‘Why isn’t this being addressed?’ There are tons of talk shows, yet there’s nothing that’s specifically for them. But I’ve never gotten the balls to go out and do it.”
